'Employing with Conviction'
Unlock is an independent award-winning charity, providing trusted information and advice services for people with criminal convictions. Our staff and volunteers combine professional training with personal experience to help others overcome the long-term problems that having a conviction can bring. Our knowledge and insight helps us to work with government, employers and others, to change policies and practices to create a fairer and more inclusive society.
The support we provide to employers
Criminal records can be confusing and hard to interpretate. The employment vetting process is constantly changing, and it's hard to keep up as an employer.
Unlock provides independent and impartial support to employers to help achieve the right balance between their safeguarding responsibilities, their desire to find the best person for the role, and the attempts of people with convictions to move on positively once they've demonstrated that they've turned heir life around.
