'Change a children's life when you change your PC'
Due to UK donations last year 123,750 children in Africa benefited from access to technology for the first time. Based in Aylesford, Kent, Computers 4 Africa provide a free of charge IT disposal service transforming lives across Africa and improving education with increased career opportunities. Students are now being trained as technicians and the digital divide has got just that bit narrower.
Computers 4 Africa is a Registered Microsoft Refurbisher charity that supplies schools, hospitals and community projects across Africa with donated IT equipment. One of the core values is 'Reuse and Repurpose' rather than recycle. Fully WEEE compliant and employ a 0% to landfill policy, Computers 4 Africa securely wipe all data and memory devices up to Ministry of Defence standards before passing on to students. Creating an environmentally sound way to dispose of unwanted IT equipment, on average the charity can add up to 5 years to the life expectancy of a PC, benefiting students and the environment.
