COVID CRISIS: Maidstone deaths top 50 in a week

Covid infections at last shows signs of decreasing in lockdown Maidstone – but Government figures show the number of deaths in one January week totalled just over 50 (30 per 100,000 population).

But the number of infections in Maidstone over a seven-day period has fallen – from 853.2 to 775.2 in KCC figures released yesterday and 784.5 today.

One seven-day Maidstone total per 100,000 showed a drop of 114 infections over the week.

Across Kent the seven-day comparisons show 10 areas have decreasing infections and three (all in East Kent) are rising.

The figures below show infections per 100,000 for a seven day period. The first column relates to early December (for comparisons) and the second column shows KCC figures for yesterday and the third column are today’s KCC figures.
