HEALTH REPORT: 'Inadequate' Albion Place Medical Centre in special measures

Friday 28th January 2022

ALBION Place Medical Centre in Maidstone has been placed in special measures after a disastrous inspection by the Care Quality Commission watchdog.

The practice was deemed ‘inadequate’ on keys areas of safety, effectiveness and leadership.

The CQC judged Albion Place’s response to patient needs as ‘requiring improvement’ but care was rated as ‘good’.

The inspection was carried out in October last year but the findings were not disclosed until January 27.

Among its failings, the report cited a high turnover of staff, a large backlog of incoming correspondence, a lack of practice strategy practice and patients did always receive the care and treatment meeting their needs.

Following successful negotiations between GP service providers, DMC Healthcare signed over contracts to run the practice to Maritime Health Partnership from January 2022.

Daily Downs Mail spent 21 minutes waiting for an answer from the practice before refusing to comment.
