INQUEST: Death of woman at private Cygnet mental hospital goes under microscope

AN inquest into the death of a young woman at the Cygnet Hospital in Maidstone starts on Thursday.
Emma Pring (29) was found dead on April 20 2021 at the unit which, among others, treats mentally ill criminals.
The inquest will be heard at the Shepway Centre, Oxford Rod, Maidstone, at 10.30am.
The hearing will explore how she died and may well examine staffing levels and the level of care. The inquest could last up to seven days.
Private facility Cygnet has been at the centre of negative headlines since it opened.
