MOTORWAY CLOSES: Chaos fear for A20 and M20 near Maidstone - details

A MASSIVE 72 mile diverson off the M2 is set to bring chaos to Maidstone's highways this weekend.
The motorway is shut for bridge repairs, sending traffic through M20's Operation Brock and onto A20.
The coastbound stretch of the M2 between J5 ( Sittingbourne, Sheppey and Maidstone) and J7 (Brenley Corner, near Faversham) will be shut from 8pm tonight, reopening ay 6am on Monday.
The detour takes motorists down Detling Hill, onto the M20, through the Operation Brock contraflow, to Dover and up the A2 past Canterbury to Brenley Corner.
The M2 coastbound M2 will be completely closed for 12 miles, the is running in the London-bound direction.
It marks the first of six full weekend closures, the next between May 20 and 23.
A Harrietsham villager said: "Here we go again. We never get a break, do we? It's going to be chaos...again."
