Maidstone bridges work DELAYED by two months

Monday 10th October 2016

Work on the Maidstone bridges 'gyratory' system will not be finished on time, it was revealed today.

It is likely to be two months over its scheduled completion date of mid-November.

Business leaders were told this morning by Kent County Council's project manager Russell Boorman that it is looking more like Janaury 17, 2017.

Mr Boorman said there will be no disruption over the festive season.

Whiole the main highways work will be done, finishing a retaining wall around the corner of the junction of High Street and Bishops Way and laying new paving stones was hampered by difficulties sourcing suitable slabs from China..
