New homes to go on sale in Marden as part of Redrow plans
Friday 9th September 2016
More than 140 new homes are to be built at Marden by Redrow Homes in a second phase of the company's development in the village.
The company has announced that houses in the new phase, called The Parsonage, off Goudhurst Road will go on sale ‘off plan’ later this month. Show homes should be built by March 2017.
The 144-home project is the second phase of houses to be built in the village by Redrow which had already secured permission for homes at Highwood Green, pictured.
As part of its planning permission, granted in July, Redrow will make a contribution of more than £580,000 toward education provision. The company will also contribute £86,000 toward playing fields.
There will be £30,000 to go towards health services and £19,000 contributed towards cycle parking. Redrow will also have to make payments towards library services, adult social services and community learning.
Rachael Baillie, sales director for Redrow Homes (South East), said: “We know from the success of Highwood Green that there’s a real demand for new homes in Marden. It’s a lovely village with a real sense of community, where people really want to live. We want to ensure that as the neighbourhood grows, facilities and services in the area are not only maintained but enhanced for the benefit of both existing and new residents.
Around 35 per cent of the site is be public open space including a central “village green”, new pond, adventure trail and play area.
The Parsonage has 87 private homes, with affordable housing accounting for the remaining 40% of the development.
There will be a choice of three, four and five-bedroom designs in what the company calls its Arts and Crafts inspired style including white render, tile hangings and weatherboarding.
A further development off Maidstone Road has also been proposed for Marden.
Homes at The Parsonage will be on sale from September 24. Go to www.redrow.co.uk/developments/the-parsonage-marden or call 01622 965369.
