POLITICS: Liberal Democrats to choose new leader tonight - special report

LOCAL Liberal Democrats will tonight decide who will be the group leader.
The position makes the victor the had of the main opposition party at the town hall.
It is thought that two of the front runners are current leader Cllr Clive English and Cllr David Naghi.
Maidstone Borough Council installs its new administration next Saturday. The Liberal Democrats lost control of MBC last May before suffering a split, when five members including its leader former a splinter movement.
The Conservatives, as the majority party, are almost certain to retain control of the authority.
